This is probably one of the coolest and most practical devices I’ve seen all week. The EcoloBlue 28 Atmospheric Water Generator makes up to 7 gallons (28 litres) of fresh water per day on humidity alone! The generator comes ready to use out of the box, and only requires some upkeep when it comes time to replace the filter and small parts. I’m sure this would be a fraction of the cost of maintaining a conventional bottle-based watercooler. Not only that…it’s totally renewable and sustainable!
The water generated from the EcoloBlue 28 has been fully tested in labs, and the detailed reports are available here.

I like the principle, very much.
But…you’re drawing humidity from the surrounding air. Which means the air around the cooler, which is, theoretically, the air that everyone has been breathing and sweating into. So…it’s a cup of sweat and breath-moisture?
I know that recycled water isn’t much different. But this is a bit in-your-face, perhaps.
Mikeachim — apparently those bad things wouldn’t get into the water, as it specifically draws water particles, then a filtration process occurs. Please read the lab reports if you’re interested.
